This was our second time to Taupo, first-time without a camper van. We have a 5 year old and appreciated the game room and private courtyard as well as the walkability to shops, restaurants, playgrounds, and the lake. The location allowed one of us to stay home during nap time and the other to explore town by foot. The townhome felt very cozy and safe. One thing to note is that parking is limited to one vehicle, the smaller the car the better as the covered parking spot is tight. I wouldn’t recommend the upstairs bedroom for younger children or curious children since the stairs are steep and the windows easy to unlock. Our 5 year old loved staying upstairs but we were confident that she wouldn’t try to open the windows. Lastly, we loved that the there was a dual washer-dryer since we stayed during shoulder season and the weather wasn’t always amenable to line drying.
